The Arc of the United States is the nation’s largest community-based organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Founded in 1950 by a visionary group of parents, the organization actively fosters lifelong inclusion for individuals across more than 100 diagnoses, including autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. Through a powerful network of nearly 600 state and local chapters, The Arc connects individuals and their families to vital community-based services, inclusive education, housing support, and workforce development programs that champion true independence.
